Expert support for those
participating in transport

Traffic law covers several areas of law, from criminal law to the law of misdemeanours and administrative, official procedures. We can guide you through the different areas and represent your interests vis-à-vis the authorities. We understand your problems as we participate in traffic ourselves. Since some of our lawyers are motorcyclists, we can look at and understand traffic situations and incidents from a motorcyclist's point of view as well. We are at your service in the following areas:

  • expert criminal law advice – We provide comprehensive legal advice on your case at any stage of the criminal proceedings. This includes analysis of the situation and exploration of options starting from the investigation stage until the end of the court proceedings.
  • victim representation – We provide assistance in ensuring that the investigating authority and the court take all the necessary steps to settle the matter to your satisfaction if you have become a victim of a road accident.
  • representation for offences – In case of less serious but punishable acts – most often these are traffic violations – we undertake to facilitation of effective preparation in order to bring the official procedure to a favorable conclusion.
  • assistance in official procedures – We can draft contracts and agreements relating to transport vehicles (such as sales contracts or loan agreements) and assist with official vehicle-related procedures (such as vehicle registration).

Feel free to ask

When will you be banned from driving?

A driving disqualification can be imposed both in criminal proceedings and in the case of a misdemeanour. A driving disqualification may also be imposed where the offence is not committed by breaking the rules on driving but where the offender uses a vehicle to commit an offence. In case of drink-driving and driving under the influence of drugs the disqualification is mandatory.

Using your break to punish another driver?

The behaviour where the driver of the vehicle in front deliberately obstructs or interferes with the vehicle behind is a crime. It is typically committed with the intention to teach or instruct. This behaviour is a form of road endangerment and is one of the most serious traffic crime.

What is drink driving?

Drink-driving is both a criminal offence and a misdemeanour. A criminal offence is committed when someone has enough alcohol in their system to reach a certain blood alcohol level, which means that it counts not only when they have reached the limit but also before and during sobering up. If the amount of alcohol is below the limit, it is an offence to drink less than the limit, as zero tolerance means that you should not drink even one sip while driving.

What is hit-and-run?

A hit-and-run is committed if you are involved in an accident and leave the scene before making sure that there is no one injured in the accident. If there is personal injury and the person involved leaves the scene of the accident, the offence of hit and run is much more serious than hit and run, namely failure to provide assistance.

Do I have to carry an accident report form?

Completion of an accident report form is not compulsory as a party to an accident but without it insurance administration and compensation claims may be unsuccessful. It is not compulsory to carry a paper accident report form, as there is now an E-reporting mobile app that can be easily downloaded to your phone.
